Westfield Chermside is the second busiest shopping centre in Australia behind Chadstone and the sixth largest in terms of area. It can be found on the northside of Brisbane, where Gympie Road and Hamilton Road meet.
Apart from the usual major retailers, you find in Westfield Shopping Centres, such as Myer, David Jones, Big W, Target, Coles, Woolworth, and Kmart, for your entertainment you will find a 16-screen cinema facility. There are also many restaurants, cafes and specialty stores spanning across the centre’s four levels but especially across levels one and two, making it, since June 2017, the largest Westfield dining precinct.
Westfield Chermside has seen a $355 million redevelopment project. They revealed its first stage last April, with thirty-three thousand square metres of space added to the centre. Stores like H&M, Zara, and the beauty giant Sephora which opened their first ever Brisbane store, opened their doors to the public for the first time at 10:00 am on April 6th, together with over 54 other fashion and home retailers.
The large redevelopment plan includes the construction of a gallery mall on the second level with around 95 retailers. This connects with the upper levels of Myer and David Jones department stores, and a new entertainment and lifestyle leisure precinct.
The Chermside bus station, which is the main station for buses for the north of the city, is also found inside the shopping centre. From here you can hop on a bus to pretty much every attraction in the city including Mt Coot-tha, the best spot for city views!
